Shaping up the  blade

I have the blade roughly completed as far as the blacksmithing goes, with just a few more things to tweak before going to the grinder. A bit ugly just now, but nowhere near finished. After some grinding, it will still need quenched in oil, then ground again, tempered, then a final grinding. The blade length is about perfect at 28 1/2 inches, matching the length of one of the two surviving medieval Scottish single handers of this type that has been found. Just trying to keep things as historically accurate as possible.

Seth, pictured below, is learning the blacksmith skills and doing a fine job of hammering out a Roman gladius blade.
