Finished all the final touches today and pleased with the result. Everything is museum quality replica of the original Bruce State Sword, and the carved grip is a creative interpretation 'fit for a king'. The real sword, kept a couple of miles from here, looks like it's grip has been replaced and rewrapped a number of times over the years. But it is recorded that it was bog oak, nothing more is known.

The lion rampant was copied from a stone carving that used to be beneath the statue of Bruce at Stirling Castle, depicting the emblem on his shield.

On the reverse side is bruce on horseback from his '1st Great Seal', used during the wars of independence 1313-1316.
